In a sign that tourism numbers are getting better numbers in Las Vegas, Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas plans to reopen on Thursday, March 25.
The buffet, one of the only to reopen on the Las Vegas Strip in June, closed on January 10 after a seven-month run at the resort.
Originally, Wicked Spoon closed in March 2020 when the state ordered nonessential businesses to temporarily shutter to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In June, after casinos reopened, Wicked Spoon returned later in the month with mandatory reservations, reduced seating, and dishes served by staff. With the state ordering restaurants to reduce capacity to 25 percent in November, operators up and down the Strip found it difficult to maintain staff levels and stay open, let alone make money. On March 15, the state eases COVID-19 restrictions on restaurants, allowing them to offer 50 percent capacity,
The Cosmopolitan’s buffet includes less common menu items such as bone marrow, squid ink pasta, and elote, plus an incredible gelato selection for dessert.
Once reopened, the buffet continues to offer limited capacity with reservations encouraged and less than 10 people per table with tables six feet apart. Staff will serve diners at each dining station. The buffet still has a two-hour limit.
The buffet plans to be open Thursday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. goes for $38 per person. Lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. is $45 per person. Unlimited drinks are $21 per person.
For now, Garden Buffet at South Point is the only buffet open in a casino in Las Vegas.
