The spit-roasted meats of chef David Chang arrive at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on April 1 when Bāng Bar opens. His latest restaurant goes into Block 16 Urban Food Hall, taking over the former Pok Pok Wing space.
Bāng Bar, which takes its name inspiration from the Korean word for bread, allocated an estimated $335,220 in construction costs alone to transform chef Andy Ricker’s former Vietnamese chicken wing restaurant.
Flatbreads are cooked to order on the griddle, filled with a choice of rotisserie carved chicken, spicy eggplant, or pork and then folded into a U-shaped wrap.
Options include the U wrap stuffed with spicy pork, teriyaki chicken, or spicy eggplant wrapped bāng flatbread for $10; the fold-up wrap with two per order for $9; and a rice bowl with pickled onion and bāng sauce for $11. Diners can opt for sides such as stewed chickpeas with flatbread, spicy eggplant, pickled shishito peppers, or creamy bean salad.
In Las Vegas, Chang also has Momofuku at the Cosmopolitan, along with Majordomo Meat & Fish and Moon Palace at the Palazzo.
Disclosure: David Chang is producing shows for Hulu in partnership with Vox Media Studios, part of Eater’s parent company, Vox Media. No Eater staff member is involved in the production of those shows, and this does not impact coverage on Eater.
