Caribbean Week 2013 kicks off Saturday, June 1st thru June 8th in New York City. This annual event organized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), is a week long conference including a mix of all things Caribbean from critical business issues in relation to tourism, immigration and country development to celebratory events such as small concerts and benefit auctions, all in an effort to promote the diversity and rich culture originating from Caribbean destinations.
Tourism and Government officials from each CTO member country are scheduled to attend. Member countries include: Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, St. Maarten, St. Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos Islands, and many more. This week is the biggest regional tourism activity in the entire state of New York drawing in tens of thousands of people and various media channels that reach audiences in the millions.
The CTO created this event for consumers and business people in mind by providing both consumer-oriented events as well as special meetings for the travel industry and media.

The objectives the CTO has set for the week are to offer exclusive Caribbean vacation specials to consumers, attract positive media attention and awareness for the region, provide opportunities for each country to promote their services, and to engage people of Caribbean descent to learn more about their culture.
