LAS VEGAS — A new delivery service owned by local restaurants plans to launch at the end of April. Kristen Corral, one of the co-owners of the vegan Mexican restaurant Tacotarian, says the new service, a local cooperative dubbed LoCo, will charge restaurants a 15 percent commission, half of what typical third-party delivery apps charge, and pay drivers $15 per hour through commissions and tips. So far, nearly 30 restaurants signed up to be owners of the co-op, including FukuBurger, Cornish Pasty Co., Volcano Grille, and 595 Craft & Kitchen. [EaterWire]

LAS VEGAS — Three Square Food Bank now has additional food distribution sites. Eastside Cannery (5255 Boulder Highway) will host food distributions at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, and Wednesday, March 31, in addition to its distributions at 9 a.m. on Fridays in March. Starting on March 23, Fiesta Henderson (777 W. Lake Mead Parkway) will host food distributions at 8 a.m. on Tuesdays, in addition to its distributions at 8 a.m. on Thursdays, and Texas Station (2101 Texas Star Lane) will host food distributions at 8 a.m. on Tuesdays, in addition to its distributions at 8 a.m. on Thursdays. Beginning March 24 and 26, Walmart at 201 N. Nellis Blvd. will host food distributions at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. The food bank also has new distribution sites at schools.
