After stopping by hundreds and hundreds of restaurants mostly around the United States, Guy Fieri and the gang from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives have been everywhere. And some Triple D spots are more than worth fans making a pilgrimage to visit.
Fieri and friends haven’t spent a lot of time in Kentucky over the years. That being said, the stops they have made have been memorable, particularly the ones in Louisville. It seems like the kind of town to head to and get your grub on.
Gralehaus — Triple D Season 25
As a general rule, being the cool place in town is associated with being a hot spot at night. That’s when all the hep cats come out, right? I’m very sorry about that. And it’s not even true in the case of Gralehaus, one of the best places in town to get breakfast and lunch.
Located on Baxter Avenue in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Gralehaus looks like it’s gone through some big changes since Triple D stopped by a few years ago. But this is still a prime place to get some superb brunch.
Grind Burger Kitchen — Triple D Season 25
Sometimes you need a good spot for a burger, and Louisville has no shortage of them. A great one is Grind Burger Kitchen, which is just blocks away from the Ohio River on Market Street. Honestly, this part of town seems to have a lot of great restaurants and shops.
Grind is exactly what you want from a burger joint. Great burgers and fries as well as a superb selection of beer and bourbon. Keep in mind that Grind is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so make sure you plan your visit accordingly.
Momma’s Mustard, Pickles & BBQ — Triple D Season 25
Sometimes a restaurant is kind enough to name itself something that clearly lays out what to expect from your stop. Momma’s Mustard, Pickles & BBQ does exactly that as you can definitely get mustard, pickles, and barbecue there.
Ribs. Nachos. Chicken. Meatloaf. This is the type of place that can give you great food, and do it at two separate locations in town. And, yes, you can order sides of mustard and pickles to go along with your meal if you so wish.
The Table — Triple D Season 25
When their website’s main page describes them as “Portland’s new farm-to-table cafe,” don’t get confused. The Table is on Portland Avenue in Louisville. I freely admit I did a double-take when I read that had to make sure I was looking up the right restaurant.
The Triple D team wasn’t confused, though. They knew where to go to get the good eats, like Meatloaf Sliders, Watermelon Salad, and a Smoked Pork Sandwich with Watermelon Pickles. The menu changes depending on the season, so you might be in for some different tasty treats.
The Seafood Lady — Triple D Season 26
When Triple D stopped by to visit The Seafood Lady, there was just one hole-in-the-wall location with a line out the door. Now, there are two fab locations, one of which is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Grind Burger Bar.
As one would expect, this is the place to get great seafood, including shrimp, crab, oysters, lobster, and more. But they also have gator dishes, including Po’boys and an appetizer called Fried Gator Tail. Guy loved this place. You will, too.
